They also highlight the welcoming and cozy atmosphere, along with the friendly and attentive staff. I have to give you a suggestion. Get the Cubano sandwich it is so great and tasty. Almost as good as what you get in Miami. That is my goto sandwich went I visit. There is also outdoor seating available. Make this a stop if you ever go over to Worthwhile Reads or Bristol Bazaar. |

This trip you might want to bring along a cooler and a bike! We are headed up to East Rock Park area. The Soldiers Monument Tower to be specific. IF you are handicapped in some way just know this has ALOT of up hill walking. Not sure if a powered wheel chair will make it all the way up as the climb is kinda steep. IF you have a bike you can ride up. I suggest using an electric bike if you have access to one that would be the easiest way up. Which is what I did. What a great ride! Ok so we are going to start on I91 north or south depending on where you live. Take the Route 68 exit in Wallingford head WEST on 68 then to Route 150 south. On this route you will find Neils Donuts on the right side for some great donuts, cookies or pastries. Once you leave there keep going on 150 south on the left there is a great food truck called Backyard Drive in, here you can pick up burgers, dogs, lobster roll or philly cheesesteak. If not keep going south to Masonic Ave on the right follow that to make another right onto S Turnpike Rd. On this road you will see Redscroll Records on the right. This is a cool spot to stop and and maybe pick up some vintage vinyl. After that is the Oakdale Theatre. Remember this spot - they have a great xmas drive through in December. Once you pass that if your doing this trip Saturday or Sunday you will run into the Redwood Flea Market. Oh my make a stop. They have items for your kitchen, gardening, tools and more. They also have a cute little diner on the far end called DJM Redwood Grill & Pizza Just note if you turn into the first driveway you have to pay $2 to park. If you pass the flea market and the diner there is a second parking area where you don't have to pay. After you leave here turn left onto 150 south and follow that all the way down to Davis St you will see a sign that says East Rock Park to the right. IGNORE that and go left instead, then on the right you will see the Entrance to get to the walking trail up to the Soldiers Monument at the top. Parking is free but there are FEW spaces. Fit where you can. Then walk to the end of the parking lot and start walking up to the tower. There are NO SIGNS. so basically right at any fork to the top. NOTE: THERE ARE NO BATHROOMS AT THE TOP! Then when your done up there and back to your car turn right out of the driveway back onto Davis st the left onto Route 5 NORTH. up the road you will find places like the Goodwill Outlet. Its really huge maybe make a quick stop if not keep following Route 5 North. This route will take you past some good spots as well like Liuzzi Gourmet Food Market. I stopped here and got some GREAT lemon cookies and salami. They have some great prepared foods and a full deli for you to stock up! Then up the street on your right keep an eye out for Popcentric Gormet Ice Pops. I will say their lemon pop is to die for! This is why I said bring a cooler! Your going to want to bring some home! Then once your done there follow Route 5, watch at a busy light the Route 5 North sign is not at the corner, its around the corner so keep a sharp eye for it. Keep following Route 5 it will take you into downtown Wallingford. Here you will find some great stores to shop at and some other coffee houses. Park the car by the park and take a short walk around. Once your done there keep following Route 5 North then to Route 15 North back to I91 and head home. OR Keep Exploring! |

Now, I get to design and hand make headbands that are just as fun and stylish as they are comfortable. Every piece is made with love, a little bit of trial and error, and a lot of attention to detail — because I know exactly how it feels when your headband just won’t cooperate. If you’ve been searching for the perfect headband, you’re in the right place. Thanks for being here and supporting my small business — it truly means the world! Your cosmic forecast for the week of September 30 through October 7, 2026, features significant celestial shifts. A powerful "ring of fire" solar eclipse in Libra arrives on Wednesday, October 2, bringing major fresh starts and deep reflections to relationships. Meanwhile, Venus stations retrograde in Scorpio on October 3, dialing up the emotional intensity.
Here is what the stars have in store for each zodiac sign, along with your 6 weekly lucky numbers:
♈ Aries (March 21 – April 19)
The solar eclipse shifts your focus directly onto your closest relationships and legal partnerships. It is time to let go of old dynamics and welcome an authentic new chapter. Avoid forcing agreements over the weekend when tempers flare.
♉ Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
Your daily routines, work habits, and physical wellness are undergoing a major reset. Focus on lifestyle choices that bring long-term stability rather than quick fixes. When Venus turns retrograde on October 3, deep-seated relationship patterns will come to light.
♊ Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Joy, creativity, and romance take center stage thanks to the Libra eclipse. You are clearing away old structural blocks to reveal what truly makes you happy. Trust the process of letting go to make room for deeper artistic expression or a new love interest.
♋ Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
Expect major turning points related to your home life, family dynamics, or physical living space. It is an excellent week to ground yourself and re-evaluate your emotional foundations. A supportive trine between Venus and Saturn on Friday brings clarity to matters of the heart.
♌ Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Communication is your superpower—and your biggest challenge—this week. The eclipse illuminates your mindset, encouraging you to voice ideas you've kept hidden. With Mars in your sign, your drive is high, but make sure to balance independence with cooperation.
♍ Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Finances and personal values are your main focal points. On September 30, you may feel intensely driven to dive into a lucrative project or money-making research. Use the days following the eclipse to look inward and meditate on your self-worth.
♎ Libra (September 23 – October 22)
This is a monumental week for you as the "ring of fire" solar eclipse lands in your sign on October 2. You are stepping into a profound personal transformation regarding your identity and self-image. Be mindful of comfort spending as the emotional energies peak.
♏ Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
The stars are urging you to rest, heal, and tune into your inner voice. An imaginative or spiritual breakthrough on September 30 could set the stage for an incredible passion project. As Venus goes retrograde in your sign on October 3, give yourself permission to process intense emotions.
♐ Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
Your social networks, communities, and long-term dreams are lit up by cosmic energy. Collaborative gatherings early in the week spark lively, rewarding conversations. Focus on turning vague hunches into tangible results, but remember to protect your social battery.
♑ Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
A major career milestone or shift in your professional direction is arriving with the mid-week eclipse. While your professional life demands focus, your social circle is also evolving. Be open to letting go of outgrown connections to make room for new faces.
♒ Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
Your thirst for adventure, higher learning, and fresh perspectives is amplified. It is a wonderful week to expand your horizons or plan travel. Professionally, avoid rushing into binding long-term decisions until the astrological fog clears later in October.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Deep emotional transformations, shared assets, and personal growth are your main themes. The cosmic energy pushes you to shed old versions of yourself to embrace a stronger, wiser identity. Speak directly in your partnerships rather than hoping others will guess your needs.
