Family Roots - Bristol

🍏 Welcome to Family Roots where every purchase is a step closer to home.** 🍎

We are beyond just a marketplace; we are a living celebration of heritage, community, and the fresh, farm-grown goodness that defines us. Our journey didn't commence with just produce in mind. It started with a visionβ€”a vision to offer our customers the finest fruits and vegetables while also providing them a glimpse into the rich tapestry of our agricultural roots.

At Family Roots, we believe in crafting meaningful connectionsβ€”both with the food you savor and between the generations that enjoy it. As you wander through our aisles, you will find more than just delicious fruits and vegetables. You will unearth stories passed down through time, traditions that shape our culinary practices, and a shared love for wholesome, farm-fresh produce. 🌾

Embrace a journey that connects you to a larger community, bridging gaps between past and future through every bite. We invite you to explore, connect, and become part of our story, one fruit and veggie at a time. πŸ₯¦πŸ₯•

This road trip is going to take you through Part of Route 1 with a stop at Silver Sands State Park area. For this park I do suggest sand shoes if you want to walk on the sand bar. Its really rocky. Watch the tide coming in you have to get off the sand bar BEFORE the tide comes it as the water pushes people off the sand bar when that happens. I also would suggest a beach cart as where you park to where the beach is - is really a hike to carry stuff.

We are going to start going through I84 getting off at exit 25A which is Austin Rd, then head UP THE HILL so Left if your coming West or Right if your coming East. So that is Austin Rd which will change to Scott Rd at the the top. Follow Scott Rd which now is heading South through Prospect. Then at the End turn Left on Waterbury Rd which is Route 69 still heading south. If your hungry you can stop at the Brunch House for breakfast OR at Hometown Pizza for a snack as well. So continuing on South on Route 69 we follow that road all the way down thrugh to Route 15, if your lucky you can see some horses down by the Equastrian center. Sometimes they are by the fence. Following route 69 you will see Route 15 over pass. Keep going and if you want a great Lobster Roll make a stop to the right at Westville Seafood. 4 out of 5 stars! he must be doing something right! Keep going on ROute 69 then we are going to make a right onto Dayton St its a short street then QUICK LEFT THE RIGHT onto Forest RD (Route 122). There are some really cool houses on this street. Follow this route until you see Route 1 and take a right. Now there are some really cool places to eat on this road. Dealers choice around here. Too many to mention. Keep following Route 1 South and once you see Dan Perkins Car dealership keep an eye out for the sign its kinda small. The entrance is left onto Silver Sands Parkway. Watch out for Deer and Turkey Crossing this time of year they have baby chicks with them. When your there take a walk over to Walnut beach area its really nice there. You can also get a Lobster Roll at The Lazy Lobster and maybe some ice cream at Walnut Beach creamery. Have a great day there! Keep Exploring!

LuLu's Cake Factory - New Britain

Lulu's Cake Factory LLC is a home-based bakery that officially opened its doors in 2022, but our passion for baking began at the end of 2019. At Lulu's Cake Factory, we pride ourselves on creating home-made sponge cakes from scratch, using cherished family recipes that hail from the picturesque shores of Puerto Rico.

Our talented owner, Lucyannie, has perfected the art of baking thanks to the timeless recipes passed down by our beloved aunt Anita. 🧁 Aunt Anita is a legend in her own right with over 30 years of baking experience, earning acclaim in both Connecticut and Puerto Rico.

At Lulu's, our cakes are not just desserts; they are a slice of our heritage and an embodiment of joy. πŸŽ‚ Some of our most raved-about creations include:

  • The Almond Sponge Cake
  • The Carrot Cake
  • The "Tres Leches" Cake

Beyond these signature offerings, we have a delightful range of other well-loved cake flavors and confections designed to sweeten your palate and spread happiness one slice at a time. 🍰
