Barrett Bookstore - Darien |
ποΈ **_A Storied Journey: Barrett Bookstore's Legacy_** π From its humble beginnings in 1939 when it was founded by Elizabeth Barrett, Barrett Bookstore has become a cornerstone of the community as the largest and oldest independent bookstore in Fairfield County. The bookstore's roots began in Stamford and have grown deep, fostering a rich history that has spanned over 80 years. Today, Barrett Bookstore proudly resides in downtown Darien, nestled within The Corbin District development, where they plan to remain as a beacon for literature and learning. With a sprawling 3,600-foot store space, the bookstore boasts an impressive collection across genres like literary fiction, non-fiction, classics, biographies, poetry, and so much more! Not forgetting, of course, their extensive selection of books and games specifically curated for children, ensuring that young readers are always welcomed with the newest adventures. π§ππ¦ As Barrett Bookstore continues to write its story, itβs clear that their legacy is fueled by a passion for books and communityβa testament to what it means to be more than just a bookstore.

With gas prices so high. I am going to wait a few weeks before starting more trips. I will be featuring the shoreline for Spring and Summer. I will also be featuring beaches across our state. Hopefully by then it will be better. For now, here is a great idea for perhaps a weekend..
* CHERRY BLOSSOMS * THEY ARE READY!! Taking a drive to view some Cherry Blossoms would be great. The flowers usually bloom in late March or early April, but the exact timing varies each year depending on the weather. Here is a list of places that have some trees to view... Wooster Square Park and Yale University in New Haven. Also make a stop and get yourself some Sallys Pizza! Bushnell Park in Hartford. May I suggest a stop at Parkville Market for some great food. Then after make a stop at WEHA Marketplace. Downtown Greenwich has some trees. Mill River Park - Stamford |
