๐ŸŒณโœจ Since our humble beginnings in 1954, Treeland has proudly been a family owned and operated cornerstone of the Bridgeport community! ๐ŸŒŸ With roots deeply embedded in shared history and values, it's no wonder weโ€™ve been welcomed with open arms by our loyal customers for over half a century. Itโ€™s indeed a privilege to serve and grow together with you all! ๐Ÿ’š

Our Journey Began in 1954 the founder, Tony Ferrigno, a Horticulture graduate from the University of Connecticut, bravely served as a Lieutenant in the Air Force. Following his service, he began Treeland with the profound expertise and invaluable partnership of his fatherโ€”an excellent grower of fine plants for over 40 years. ๐ŸŒฟ

This historic partnership planted the seeds for what is now considered one of Connecticut's leading garden centers. ๐ŸŒบโœจ

Thanks to the community's unwavering support, Treeland has blossomed into a haven known for its impeccable reputation as being customer-friendly and affordable. ๐Ÿ’ With every passing decade, our mission to provide the best gardening products and services has grown stronger, ensuring every visit is both pleasant and memorable. ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’ช

We owe our success to each one of you, and we look forward to cultivating even more memories together! ๐Ÿ™Œ Thank you for being part of our story. ๐ŸŒฑโค๏ธ

๐ŸŽ„ Did You Know? ๐ŸŽ„

If you're looking to get into the holiday spirit, then Connecticut is just the place for you! Here are some delightful Christmas-related facts about the "Nutmeg State":

  • Easton: The Christmas Tree Capital - This quaint town isn't just known for its picturesque landscapes, but it's officially recognized as the "Christmas Tree Capital of Connecticut" due to its abundance of Christmas tree farms. A perfect spot to find that perfect tree! ๐ŸŒฒ
  • Classic Hollywood Holiday Magic - Did you know that the classic 1945 film, Christmas in Connecticut, starring Barbara Stanwyck and Dennis Morgan, finds its roots here? The film wonderfully portrays a columnist in a hilarious mess, having to host a fake "perfect Christmas" on a farm in Connecticut. It's a must-watch during the festive season ๐Ÿ“ฝ๏ธ!
  • Modern Festive Cinematics - With its charming New England aesthetic, Connecticut is a favorite filming location for Christmas movies. Over 22 Hallmark, Netflix, and Lifetime holiday films have been shot here. If you've watched a Christmas film, there's a good chance you've seen a bit of Connecticut! ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽฅ

Connecticut not only gives you the feeling of a perfect Christmas but also lets you relish in the magical ambience right out of a holiday film. As the season of joy approaches, why not plan a visit and experience the festive magic yourself? ๐ŸŽ…โœจ

Our drive this weekend takes us down Route 8 which in itself is a scenic drive. We are headed South on Route 8 from I84 in Waterbury. We head down to Seymour exit 18 /RT67(watch to see if the sign numbers have changed) you will take a right off the exit following the signs for RT 67 BUT we are going to make a stop at the Naugatuck Falls, this is a great photo op here. You will see Route 67 takes a right under the over pass, just here go straight onto Wakely St to see the falls. There is a parking lot just above the falls - you will hear it before seeing it. There are stairs to go down to get a better view. Your going to want to go there! Hopefully they are at full force to really see it in its glory. After that head back to Route 67 West. Looking for a place to eat? check out Bobby Fritz Snack Bar. Here you will get breakfast and lunch. they have extended hours oon the weekend. Continuing West you will find alot of different places to eat, Roses Family restaurant service Italian fair, Brookside Inn celebrating 75yrs and so many others. What are you craving? Make your choice. As always, I like to browse a Goodwill Store you will find one as your driving. I like to check and see the art, kitchen wares and sometimes find collectibles there too. It's a treasure hunt! Check it out. Heading up the road is Quarry Rock even more places to eat. Check out Mini Munch Sliders, if you already ate why not take a box home for later? If your looking for a treat check out Country Creamery Ice Cream in that plaza as well. If your bypassing that one, then further up route 67 is the always popular Rich Farm Ice Cream. Google reivews for this is 5 stars, I have been to their Bristol one as well. Its top notch. I LOVE their bluberry flavor. Continuing up Route 67 your going to look for Route 188 South your looking for Southford Falls State Park here you will find another waterfall and watch tower. The falls are near the parking area - which is kinda small, the watchtower your going to need to hike. I hear there are some great views from there. I cannot go out there as hiking I cannot do because of my knees. Take a walking stick in case of animals. This park has gotten some great  reviews. Its worth a look. Stretch your legs. Then we continue on Route 188 South. Now I have a treat for you! How about some horseback riding?? Make a stop at Mustang Meadow - visit their website to see if you need to make a reservation. I went on a horse once, he basically took me where he wanted. I never rode again LOL. Maybe you will have better luck. Gotta say it was fun! This you do not everyday! Once you've done that keep heading down route 188 at the Round About if its late keep following it down back to Route 8, if not then keep following 188 to Route 34. Now your can go North on 34 and see the Stevenson Dam and Lake Zoar OR you can go South on 34 following the Housatonic River int Derby and then back to Route 8. Again its up to you. Go Exploring!!
